Polyshades Is Psychedelic Baby, YEAH!
If you have not yet experienced the groovalicious flavor of Polyshades, no problem, we are here to deliver a glass of warm, psychedelic goodness. Fizzing up around the Alton/St. Louis area, Polyshades serves up psychedelic surf rock tunes that will guide you on a swirling journey through waves of joy and wonder. Supporters of wavy music can groove out at the many locals shows Polyshades play in both Alton and St. Louis. Often playing at Bottle & Barrel (Alton), The Ready Room (The Grove in STL), The Sinkhole (STL), as well as many other venues, viewers are brought into a dream-like state with Polyshades’ far out sound.
December 2017 was an excellent time for Polyshades where they introduced their debut full-length album, “Mirrors of Man.” The beginning of the album kicks off grooving and does not stop until the very end. “The Keeper’s Grip” may be Polyshades’ most popular song on Spotify, but “Ballast” is most definitely the underrated golden gem of the group. Listeners sink down into the waves of this groovy song while, at the same time, emerge out of the surf and into the light for the funky break down towards the end.
If you are searching for quality local music in the Alton area, Polyshades are your dudes to check out. Catch them at a gig where you can often experience a live psychedelic light display projected behind the band while they play. They can also be supported on Bandcamp (buy their album and support local art!) and Spotify.
