Lauren attended Lewis and Clark Community College getting an Associate’s in Art. She then transferred to Illinois State University and graduated in May 2017 with a degree in English-Publishing Studies.

Her ultimate goal is for Warm Soda to become successful and be a great asset for Alton and its creative community. She would love to stay in editing/proofreading as much as possible.

What soda flavor describes you best and why?
Lemon/lime describes Lauren best because she is a Gemini and because she likes to think the crisp, refreshing taste is relatable to her personality.

Favorite artist and musician?
Lights is her favorite musician AND artist. She is amazingly talented; Lights created a comic concept album and drew, colored, wrote the entire series “Skin&Earth,” along with writing and performing the parallel music album.

What is a fun fact about you?
She was classically trained in voice for five years.

What’s your favorite spot in Alton?
Germania Brew Haus, although recent, is her favorite spot. It’s a spot of great ideas and collaboration, along with the hundreds of chai tea lattes she has consumed.  Additionally, it’s where the Warm Soda staff meets, so it’s extra special for her.

What do you love best so far about Warm Soda Magazine?
She loves the dedicated, passionate, hardworking people who have come together to make this magazine (her dream) come to life. Also, she appreciates how Warm Soda is a creative outlet. Music is a huge part of who she is and Lauren wants to still be connected to it, along with her passion of writing and editing.

Shelby went to Lewis and Clark Community College and graduated with an Associate's in Computer Graphics in the fall of 2017.  She also is certified in Web Design and Social Media Marketing.

What do you do in your spare time/hobbies?

What are your plans/dreams/goals for the future?
Shelby’s dream is to make a difference somewhere and to help others. Warm Soda is the best place to incubate a common space for creatives to discover each other and grow.

What soda flavor describes you best and why?
The flavor that best describes Shelby is Root Beer, because of it's soft sweet flavors are like her personality. It also mixes well with icecream.

What is is one thing you can’t live without?
One thing Shelby cannot live without is art. Whether she’s creating it herself or observing it, she loves to be surrounded by art. She not only enjoys bright offending colors, but also soft pastels to muddy earth tones.

What’s your favorite spot in Alton?
Shelby’s favorite spot is anywhere in Alton quiet with a sunny spot to sit in. As long as that spot isn’t facing the sun. The sun offends her eyes.

What do you love best so far about Warm Soda Magazine?
Shelby’s favorite part about being in Warm Soda is being surrounded by passionate artists coming together to make a dream come true. Also the memes and stickers. She has a sticker addiction.

Rosita

Where did you go to college/where are you attending? What is your major?
Rosita went to Bradley University, which is in Peoria, Ill., graduating May of 2017 with an Art Major and concentration in Ceramics.

What do you do in your spare time/hobbies?
She likes to use her time to have fun, which includes a wide range of activities. During the week one can find her creating art inspired by the vibes of the music she’s listening to at that moment. Whether it is painting, drawing or fabric work, it is connected to the energy flowing around her. On the weekends, one can find her dancing to the groovalicious tunes of the local band, Jake’s Leg, who jam the tunes of The Greatful Dead.

What soda flavor describes you best and why?
Sweet and Spicy Garlic Soda, get to know her and you can answer why.

Favorite artist and musician?
Salvador Dali is her home boy. He was eccentric, brilliant and his true self. Favorite musical artist at this time in her life is for sure Tame Impala. Their sound waves take Rosita on a journey with every listen.

What is a fun fact about you?
She has hacked a loogie from the tippy top of the Eiffel Tower.

What’s your favorite spot in Alton?
Sitting on the bluffs watching the colors bloom out of the sunset horizon.

What do you love best so far about Warm Soda Magazine?
The potential Warm Soda has through their exceptionally creative team. Alton is ready for a community-based art publication, and Rosita is so very thrilled to be a part of this journey forward.

Blue Raspberry because it’s Raspberry but also pretty and everyone likes it more for that.

One thing she can honestly not live without is friends. They are her support system and more; she shares everything with her friends like they are family.

What is a fun fact about you?
She can make this horrible “baby” cry noise that makes people's skin crawl.

Her favorite spot in Alton has to be the Lovejoy Cemetary. She is a weirdo, and she spent so much time there as a kid. As an adult though, it’s just oddly serene and beautiful.

He would have to say Dr. Pepper because of its unique flavor. He would say he's pretty unique and also has a little bit of spice.
