Lauren attended Lewis and Clark Community College getting an Associate’s in Art. She then transferred to Illinois State University and graduated in May 2017 with a degree in English-Publishing Studies.

What are your plans/dreams/goals for the future?
Her ultimate goal is for Warm Soda to become successful and be a great asset for Alton and its creative community. She would love to stay in editing/proofreading as much as possible.

What soda flavor describes you best and why?
Lemon/lime describes Lauren best because she is a Gemini and because she likes to think the crisp, refreshing taste is relatable to her personality.

Favorite artist and musician?
Lights is her favorite musician AND artist. She is amazingly talented; Lights created a comic concept album and drew, colored, wrote the entire series “Skin&Earth,” along with writing and performing the parallel music album.

She was classically trained in voice for five years.

Where did you go to college? What is your major?
Shelby went to Lewis and Clark Community College and graduated with an Associate's in Computer Graphics in the fall of 2017.  She also is certified in Web Design and Social Media Marketing.

What do you do in your spare time/hobbies?
Shelby is the queen of hobbies. She likes to go on adventures to take photographs. She likes to paint, embroider and play video games. She’s always down to pick up a new hobby, but few stick.

What are your plans/dreams/goals for the future?
Shelby’s dream is to make a difference somewhere and to help others. Warm Soda is the best place to incubate a common space for creatives to discover each other and grow.

What soda flavor describes you best and why?
The flavor that best describes Shelby is Root Beer, because of it's soft sweet flavors are like her personality. It also mixes well with ice cream.

Rosita

Where did you go to college/where are you attending? What is your major?
Rosita went to Bradley University, which is in Peoria, Ill., graduating May of 2017 with an Art Major and concentration in Ceramics.

What do you do in your spare time/hobbies?
She likes to use her time to have fun, which includes a wide range of activities. During the week one can find her creating art inspired by the vibes of the music she’s listening to at that moment. Whether it is painting, drawing or fabric work, it is connected to the energy flowing around her. On the weekends, one can find her dancing to the groovalicious tunes of the local band, Jake’s Leg, who jam the tunes of The Grateful Dead.

What soda flavor describes you best and why?
Sweet and Spicy Garlic Soda, get to know her and you can answer why.

Favorite artist and musician?
Salvador Dali is her home boy. He was eccentric, brilliant and his true self. Favorite musical artist at this time in her life is for sure Tame Impala. Their sound waves take Rosita on a journey with every listen.

 Fun fact?
She has hacked a loogie from the tippy top of the Eiffel Tower.

Writer Alex St. Peters

Where did you go to college/where are you attending? What is your major?
Alex went to SIUE to get his Bachelor's in Marketing and is now attending Lewis and Clark to get his Associate's in Computer Graphics.

What do you do in your spare time/hobbies?
In his spare time, he enjoys listening to vinyl records, playing video games, watching Netflix and playing hockey. During the hockey season, Alex helps coach East Alton-Wood River’s high school hockey team. He also likes to eat ice cream, and really enjoys a nice pair of slacks.

What soda flavor describes you best and why?
He would have to say Dr. Pepper because of its unique flavor. He would say he's pretty unique and also has a little bit of spice.

Favorite artist and musician?
His favorite artist would have to be Sammy Hagar. Alex's mom has always been a big Sammy Hagar fan, so he listened to a lot of him growing up. He knows it’s not popular opinion, but he enjoys Van Hagar over Van Halen.

Writer Logan Bryant

Where are you attending college? What is your major?

She is currently attending SIUE, and will be a senior this year. She is a social work major, and plans on going directly to graduate school after graduation.

What do you do in your spare time/hobbies?

She’s a barista at Post Commons, which she can thankfully count as a hobby as well. She also loves seeing local bands play, redecorating every two weeks and hanging out with her dog, Colby.

What are your plans/dreams/goals for the future?

After graduate school, she would like to work in a social work position related to medicine, politics or community development.

What soda flavor describes you best and why?

Orange soda describes her best — she loves all things citrusy and bright!

Favorite artist and musician?

Logan’s favorite group of artists is boygenuis. It consists of Julien Baker, Phoebe Bridgers and Lucy Dacus, which were some of her favorite artists before the group. They’re all amazing women who are comfortable in emotional vulnerability, whether it be speaking on life experiences, mental health or identity/ sexuality. They’re also great songwriters, as well as performers.

Fun fact?

Fun fact: In kindergarten, she learned Furbish (the language of a Furby toy) and her mom had to ground her until she stopped speaking it.

She went to RISD majored in photo, graduating in 2018.

What are your plans/dreams/goals for the future?

She’s not really sure. Like a lot of people her age, she’s recently had to reconsider what she wants to do with her life and rethink what makes her happy. She thinks she’d be doing pretty well if she could get a full-time job, have weekends off and keep making art.

What soda flavor describes you best and why?

Diet Coke. Sweet, but tastes kind of off.

Favorite artist and musician?

Tony Oursler
Kim Petras

Fun fact?

She collects porcelain clowns.
